found this wedding band at the same place me and Keith have found the seated coins lately
looks to be gold plated copper but the #s are wrong ??
the etrac says its a nickle 12 - 12
if its copper it would have #s 12 - 44 to 12 - 47
the seam on the inside shows a white metal could be solder
what other kind of metals did they make rings out of in the 1800s
this is my first antique ring
thanks for your input

Hmmm...that's strange. I'm curious because lately I've also dug a "gold" cufflink and ring that sound off as a nickel (12-13 range), but appear to be plated.

a lot of rings back then were made of brass ( the other yellow metal ) and plated as most people could'nt afford real gold
