Archeologist have found a 300 year gold coin in Ferryland, Newfoundland. The gold coin, minted in 1708, was found at the Colony of Avalon.
 
That is interesting trivia, so when you wanted to give a girl the sweet eye it cost you money... not much has changed in 300 years

LOL True, so true! I did a little more research on the whole "S" thing and I guess it started out as a tribute to saints and carried over to a love token of sort.
 
Good to know,I'll call my daughter,she lives in Norris Point Newfoundland, I'll call and see how far it is to the honey hole,let ya'll know how it went.lol
