Dutchess County NY

Depending on how the weather holds up (and if the gf needs anything done around the house) would anyone be interested in meeting up at a Chatham/Hudson area park some point this weekend? I should be getting my NEL tornado tomorrow. Pretty excited to test it out!

Wow, I missed a lot on here. I'm subscribed but hadn't received any email notifications. I haven't made it out once this spring/summer, unfortunately. Took a trip to CO and also NC in June/July and did some gold panning though. That was fun!

Hope everyone's summer has been enjoyable so far.

Lagrangeville here

I am a newbie but already have the bug. Would like to find a fellow hunter to go with!

Hi Boots
Glad to hear you are still around. I am heading to NC too, perhaps will try the gold panning when I am out there. I tried to find some detectorists out that way where I will be, but gold seems to be the focus in that area.

Hi Harry
Welcome to the thread. I am from LaGrange also....

Here are some recent finds from earlier this week.

There is a 1788 Connecticut Copper, and a 1718 British Half penny, along with a nice big Dandy button and some other more generic buttons.

Snow today , gold tomorrow

Hey guys just reviving this thread. I've been dirt fishing here in dutchess county for a few years and we all should do a meet up when the cold goes away. I've tried detecting when its the season for the freezing and its not fun at all and I can't get the items out of the ground. Like chipping through concrete. Any how lets get a good group together and go make some finds.

Thanks for breathing a bit of life into this old thread. I am looking forward to nice weather. I was able to get out Saturday in a couple places where the ground wasn't frozen... Felt good to be swinging..

Back to life! Awaiting the thaw...... I cant wait to get digging again. Grew up in Beacon and live in Carmel now.....most of my Colonial finds from last few years have been in Dutchess!! Warming up next week....fingers crossed.
I also hunt in Westchester,Putnam, Orange, Ulster.....CT...
