Who likes photography

These are pictures I took at an event in August, which we try to get to
every year. It's a week long event at Kentwell Hall in Suffolk. There is also a
weekend event we are going to this coming weekend.

I hope you can open up the photos, as apparently it tells some people they
need to log in. Which is why I have started using Google Photos for some
albums

These are a few I took on Friday 15th Oct.

Nothing much out of the ordinary, but it was just nice to get out.
These were at RSPB Rainham Marshes, which is on the River Thames, just
to the East of London. It used to be firing ranges up until the 1990's, in
fact I shot there a number of times when I was in the Air Cadets, with the
old .303 Lee Enfield back in the 60s and early 70s. A couple of the target
butts are still there as a reminder.

How did you manage to rupture your Achilles tendon while fishing ?
Unless you got your foot stuck in the mud ? I bet that was painful,
and hope it heals quickly.

I love the Chipmunk, it's super cute.. I love the way it fills up it's pouches.

Here's a few I took at Abberton Reservoir, in Essex England.
Featuring mostly Great White Egrets and Grey Herons. I've never
seen so many Gt Whites in one place. There were about 15 of them there.
I didn't get them all in focus. They were some distance off and I had to
crop the photos.

I bought myself a Christmas present this year. I got a Rokinon 16mm f/2 lens (for Canon EF-S, sorry full-frame users). I am planning on using it to take night sky photos with long exposures (18 seconds or so). I did get the 77mm light pollution filter as well.

When I retire, I hope to spend more time with my camera. For lunar and solar pictures, I will use a 400mm catadioptric mirror-lens (effectively 640mm) and the appropriate filters. For pictures of the night sky/stars, I definitely needed the short focal length and wide open aperature.

I haven't used it yet, but I certainly hope Rokinon/Samyang has improved since I got my Pentax K-1000 outfit back in 1983. The Samyang telephoto had some issue with the lens coatings. The reviews seem promising, so maybe they've improved.

I don't think I'll ever be able to afford one of those lenses with the f-number less than one...

I took a few of my pocket watch that I recently acquired.
