Chinese or Japanese coin?

I dug this up today in a curb strip in front of a house that was built probably between 1905 & 1915. I'm not really sure as to what country it's from or what year it was made. It is a hair bigger than a quarter. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not to sure your ID is correct.
Your images are upside down.
See if you can clean your coin a bit more and post some new pics.
Maybe with indirect lighting from the side.
This may give better detail to the characters.

At any rate that is a great find.
