I have to say this is one sensitive detector. It was super muddy today. Actually got my truck stuck when leaving. Has been raining for over a week. But I managed some keepers. And my third eagle button from this site. One round ball was deep. Under some roots took me a while to get to it. If you see my finger in the picture the bullet is on the side right at my finger tip. Found my first wood with lead in it. Not sure if it is civil war related but is still cool. Found one round ball that has been cut to what looks like a chess piece or something. I also dug my share of trash. I going to really like this machine.

Very nice haul. Are those 3 pulled round balls I see? I don’t think I’ve seen a pulled round ball before. Plenty of pulled Minnie balls but no round balls. Nice going. Can we get a better look at this bullet? Looks kinda interesting.

I have found several that have slight screw holes in them but doesn’t looked like they are big enough or deep enough holes to be pulled. And yes that bullet is weird to me too. I’m not even sure if it is war era or not. I didn’t take a really close look at it when I got home. I’ll try and get a better picture of it tonight after I get home from church. I detect all around the properties where I found the round balls. But never find many just three ringers. But in this property I have only found round balls. I can’t figure it out.

I've run into a similar situation hunting a large farm. The fields are separated by hedgerows. In one field we find nothing but Sharps. In an adjoining field we find minnie balls and pistol bullets. I'm not complaining. I like it.

The weather we've been having in KY has been pretty miserable. What part of the state are you in? I'm in the Ashland area.

Which one is the chess piece ??

Nice recovery on all that history.

The third picture down. That was just a guess a buddy of mine on another forum said it might be a civil war era shotgun slug. I think it is a round ball with both ends cut off.

It may not be civil war era after I took a better picture and zoom up it looks like it may have crimp marks. My eyes can’t see good unless I have glasses on. Lol. It has been shot though. One side is slightly smashed.

Hmmm. I found one similar to that at a civil war site where I’ve found hundreds of bullets. I’m not sure what yours or mine is. They are similar but different.

That is a neat looking bullet. I have never seen one like it before
