What do I do now?

Recently I found a very ugly lump of rusty iron but before tossing it into a recycling barrel, I noticed a slight resemblance to a car, possibly a convertible roadster. I wrapped it in wire and put it into my electrolysis tank. 8 days later I have this. Now I’m in a quandary. Do I leave it alone or try to clean it further and risk damaging it? If so, what methods should I try?

Advice? Suggestions?

Now that is starting to take shape !!

change the water and whatever else you got in there and give it another bath..
keep changing the waters and not wait another 8 days to do so.

LOVE the find and can't wait to see it when your done.

Yep, what he said.
Plus, you may also need to clean your electrode to get the current needed to do the electrolysis.

I measure the current (Amperes) to see if all is working well. To do this put a high power smaller value resistor in series with either lead. Then use a Voltmeter to measure the Voltage drop across the resistor. Ohm's Law give the current I = E/R.

I use a 5-10 Watt resistor of 0.1 to 0.47 Ohms.
Now you can check to see if it is still working and when changing solution, cleaning electrode see if the set up still good.

You do not need to keep the Voltmeter on. Just turn it on to check then turn if off so the battery doesn't die.
