Hello everyone. My old buddy Coinrex and I decided to hit a couple old parks where we grew up. Knowing full well they’ve been hit nonstop for decades, we agreed that we’d only dig the deepest and iffiest targets no matter the TID. So, my second target(6-23 on the Etrac) rang up at 7+”. Hoping for an old button, I recovered this amazing old and engraved 18k men’s wedding band. Wow!!! I immediately considered the day a success even though we just got started.
After a couple more hours with little success, we decided to hit a second park where Coinrex had had some success last year(half dime and a few barber dimes). I randomly wandered to a spot that seemed inconspicuous(near a modern building). I got a 12-33 on the Etrac at around 6”. Hoping for an Indian, out comes this amazing 1853 seated half dime. Unreal!! Then 6” away I get a higher tone at the same depth. Cool! Pocket spill! Im thinking a seated dime and unbelievably it ended in o being an 1825 capped bust dime!!
What an incredible day! And the best part was that I was able to share it with one of my oldest friends. He and I began detecting together in 1985 when were 14 years old. A perfect day.
Thanks for reading and happy hunting everyone. And remember, those old parks are rarely ever truly ‘hunted out’. Walk in there like you own the place! Ha!
* I’ll try to make the pics be in some sort of sensible order, but meh- you know...
