And KT got a bit of silver! Always nice to get a few shinies!

Here is how this weeks CRH went:

Box 1 - 1 64 Ken, 3 NIFCs, 1 Proof, and 1 grease-filled die mint error.

Box 2 - 7 NIFCs

Box 3 - 2 40% Ag Kens, 2 NIFCs

Box 4 - 6 NIFCs

Box 5 - 4 NIFCs

So the totals this week are: 1 64 Ken :D, 2 40% Ag Kens , 1 Proof, and 1 grease-filled die mint error. Out of 22 NIFCs, not a one was a keeper for KT, only looking now for a few 2014, 2016, and a lot of 2017 to fill out the rolls collection...also, KT has seen a couple of 2018 Kens reported in this thread and He has yet to find even one!:roll:

Anyway, enjoy the pics this time...the Royal camera took some decent images this week! The 64 Ken has a reasonable toning to it so it did not get cleaned...looks better in person than in this image.

WoW! Three silvers recovered this week and 30 views and not one comment!

KT is thinking perhaps His Majesty should just stop bothering to post CRH info in here and perhaps only give a yearly total...after all, it MUST be very boring for the forum members to hear that week after week, KT has gotten some silver....but when one person finds a silver dime mding, dozens jump in to pat him/her on the back and give encouragement! But, no. KT doesn't need any encouragement....tons of coins searched in the past years, yet He just keeps plugging away....Well, He does it cause He loves it (or He is just plane crazy)....Tell ya a secret, He does it cause to His Majesty it is just as exciting as MDing! Really!:laughing:

Sumpin' ain't right in the Kingdom, me thinketh!:no:

Your thread probably got put on mute !! Nice finds ,!!

Nice round up! How did you determine the grease filled die error?

Zeemang, take a close look at the right coin in the last image. Much of the obverse rim stamping of liberty is illegible. The weak stamping also extends to the near rim portions of the phrase In God We Trust. Some of the lettering is only readable with a properly oriented reflection. About half of the reverse is also not present. This type of error typically happens when grease gets on the die, either one or both sides of the die. The die will fail to make an overall crisp strike, and often has areas where the strike is so weak it is not visible.

KT collects mint errors and has spent time in coin shops where examples are documented and for sale. Usually as soon as this type of error is recognized by the Mint, the entire batch of coins is trashed and the dies cleaned and inspected, replaced if they are damaged.

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments. Sometimes KT gets a bit frustrated when it takes a while for the forum members to respond.

Kings need to learn patience and realize His fellow MDers and CRHers may be out on their own missions, therefore not quickly able to respond!:laughing: Here is hoping everyone reading this post has some great luck MDing and CRHing this month.

KT is happy to CRH in the air conditioning this summer since our temps in His Royal Realm are trending in the feels like 100 - 110 F in the afternoons, due to high humidities locally. KT has many totyards unsearched in the past 12 months, due to His Royal Knees and this damnable heat! Hopefully we will have some nice weather this fall and KT will be able to hit a few of these loaded totlots! Expect reports in the Finds section when that occurs!

Congrats as always on some great finds KT! Slow responses can be frustrating but then I remember that we are in different time zones, walks of life, etc. Regardless, congrats on adding to the royal coffers.
