Been awhile since I posted any finds on here. I moved to Phoenix in June 2018. I haven't detected anywhere near as much as back east. One the summer here is ridiculously hot. So hard to detect when it is 110+ outside. You need to go 2 hours north to find relief. Back east it was easy to door knock. Here not so much plus as hard s the ground is, you don't want to mess up anyone's yard. Searching for ghost towns has been fun but most that are known have been pounded unless they are on property where you get arrested. Out here you REALLY need to know if you can detect there or not. I haven't tried gold nugget hunting yet. That is a whole different ballgame of where you can and cannot go. I bought a new Jeep Willys so at least I can explore more out here.

Back east I would have amassed three silvers in one hunt. It has been three silvers since I moved here. I miss that about the east coast (Delaware). Below are pics of the better things I have dug. There is and no particular order, An Alabama Tax Token, 1905O Barber dime. Las Vegas token for a now defunct casino. 1938 Merc. 1951 Rosie. A semi rare joker token. A 1918 Arizona Chauffeur's badge. You can see the rough AZ desert is not kind to silver coins.

Now that the weather has cooled down to the 70's and 80's I am going to make an effort to get out more. Back east I could do night hunts. Here Not so much with coyotes roaming everywhere in the desert. With my new Jeep I can get to more areas. Nice to be back on here. At least I have found love out here..;) Thanks for looking and HH!

Also here is a link to my only video I posted here so far...

Those Alabama Tax Tokens sure do make their rounds. I found one here in PA.

Congrats on getting back out.

I know your pain digging in AZ.
Great treasure here but can be work with ground and heat. I tend to hunt for and in shade.
Any Barber day is a good day.

Haha. Yea she might be "slightly" younger than I but she really likes my nerd hobby. LOL. In fact if we go off roading she tells me to bring the Nox and she keeps an eye out for pints of interest to detect. She loves seeing my finds. I got a rare one, unlike my ex wife who hated my hobby...

WOW. That Lady sure knows how to wear red lipstick! Not every gal can.

Fun pics Jersey!

Might need to change your name to something more Arizona-ee. Like Kokopelli_digger or something. :)

Frankly, I'm impressed you're pulling silvers at all out there. Well done!

Cheers!

Sounds like my experience after moving from Illinois to Texas. Finds shrunk by 90% and so did places to detect.

Had to say goodbye to friendly farmers letting us onto the fields between crops and then Hello to overprotective ranchers who fence everything and check the perimeter daily with their friends Beretta and Remington.

Anything public has either been pounded to death or banned due to the hippies who consider us a danger to a rare clover or yellow legged cricket. Many of the old private permissions I've had were a bust due to this region (Central Texas) being pretty poor in comparison to Northern Illinois and they simply had less coinage to drop and lose.

Anyways, you learn to adapt and find the joy in whatever slim pickings it is you discover.

Pic was taken at a Christmas golf outing. She does wear it well. Yea I thought about a name change but my youtube is also this name. Guess I am the Jersey Digger out west...LOL

Just for your information it does not get any better in Tucson. Parks are pounded and all the schools are now fenced in. Found a couple Silvers this year but that is because of the 540 upgrade.

Good finds in a lean setting! Don't sweat the coyotes, that's why they make shootin' irons. You're not in Jersey anymore! Neither am I for that matter. And don't forget to show your lady how to use an MD. She might find some bling and share your zeal! Arizona has a rich Southwest history, replete with Spanish missionaries and maybe conquistadores. Read up on your new state's history and I'm sure you'll discover more places to haunt. It was the southern route to the Pacific Ocean.

Wow you nailed this directly on the head for here as well. Adding to that is the massive amount of state and trust land here you cannot detect...

Same here with parks and schools...

I will be getting a backup machine soon and she will learn to use it. She likes it...
