Been picking up some silver here and there. The cross is to die for, I think that was maybe $2.00. The bracelet with turquoise was .75 !! 925 True love waits, Casper and 925 earrings and little 10kt. gold pink hearts picked up on one of my trips.Okay the pearl earrings are 18 kt. and I think I paid .75 and white gold earrings are 14kt. and they were $4.00. The ring is marked 417m which equals 10kt. and tested as such. That was $4.00. The pin/brooch I paid $1.00 and is marked 14kt. Now a little story...the white gold earrings felt extremely light so I figured they were gold, also if you run your nail across the post it should feel rough. The pearl earrings just had that "glow" that only 18 kt. can have. The ring had me and I almost didn't buy it until the guy behind the counter said "I think it says 417m" ding ding ding bell went off, that's gold girl...get it. Now today I landed the pin. Hubs asked if I have ever found anything there and I said...some. So we go and I look at everything and first I spot the silver bracelet. I then carefully look at the pins outside the case...nothing. Then I spot more on the inside. I have no idea how I know what's what but that one just stood out. I look it over don't see a mark, then I notice how the clasp is a bit different. So I look a bit harder and I finally see the mark were it shows in the photo. It was a mere $1.00. Scale photo shows the weight and with approx. stone weight which you would minus. Hopefully I have not shown any of these finds on my other posts. I'm old I get confused lol. Happy hunting people no matter what it is!

Nice haul! I never find anything worth even looking at here. The local thrift stores never put out good stuff.

You do not need a detector.đź‘Ť:lol:

I know LOL my husband says the same thing. Haven't been out hardly at all detecting in this last year because of the stupid virus. I don't want to door knock and make people uncomfortable so I'm pretty limited on that. But the shops are open and I am there digging around...lol

Door knocking landed me in handcuffs recently, not MD related(broke down, cell dead), but be aware. My choices were a night in the 'drunk tank' (I had NOT been drinking), DUI (again not drinking), or criminal trespass.

Another bunch of nice finds! I don't get the "extremely light so I figured they were gold" comment though. Did you mean heavy instead of light?
What is the mark on that broach? Silver? Gold? Also wondering about the rough feel on the earring post...do you mean you are feeling the stamped hallmarks with your nail? That makes sense. Sometimes they are so tiny, it's hard to see them.
Thanks for posting the 417M mark info. Don't think I've ever seen that, but will now know what it means if I do see it.

They have gotten so cheap with the gold earrings but price is through the roof. So if they feel lighter in the hand I look extra close. Most garbage jewelry is made from brass, copper, stainless..etc. And those are heavy feeling. Plated in gold. And yes the finger nail running across sometimes is a dead give away. And the brooch is marked 14kt on the "clasp". Am posting some more finds in a few minutes that I found today 3/2/2021
