These are new on Amazon, not sold by Amazon but 'fulfilled by Amazon'. Which means it has a great guarantee and returns/exchanges are done directly through Amazon, not through the seller. i.e. you would mail it back directly to Amazon with prepaid UPS label.

Looking around everywhere else they seem to be like $373.

This is the 3 knob model with sensitivity, the two knob model chatters away (because sensi is set too high, I think).

Yes, I did purchase from my suggested link on Amazon.
My first MD, so take everything said here with grain of salt :D

The design and positive ergonomics of these detectors were way ahead of their time. Definately a fun lil' machine and I love my PULSE model. Have also had the wader, diver, and UW12.

If you hunt in salt water with it, you'll need to turn down the sens or it will be very chatty. Nonetheless, take some practice targets and bury them at the beach. It will help you learn what is a real target and what is just an erroneous sound.

Happy Hunting!

Thanks. I'm trying to keep it simple and just starting. Being near the ocean it looks like there is less work using a scoop standing up instead of kneeling and digging in hard ground for hours. Lazy me!

That is a true statement
