Need advice on budget detector.

I agree with KirkS. I picked up a nice used Treasure Pro for $255. Lots of features and respectful depth. I have only been out with it twice but I did find 2 silver dimes on the first outing.
Plus it's very lightweight and only requires two AA batteries.

Very lightweight. If I wasn't regularly detecting at saltwater beaches, I'd probably use mine more often. As it is now, it sits unused, waiting for me to hit 6 months here so I can put it in the classifieds.
 
I would look at the Liberator by Teknetics at 299 with a promo code. At least you would have a ground balance. Good luck with what ever you get.
 
I try to avoid posts like this because I have found some FAULT with all 7 brands of detectors I have owned UNTIL I found out how to overcome these faults by learning the detector. Go with your feelings and with a sponsor.:cool:
