I found two thin aluminum items recently in two separate locations One I know is a child drinking cup but can anyone tell me what the cone shaped thing is with the pleated sides and tiny flat bottom? Quarter is for size comparison. Thanks, I can't figure it out.

candle snuffer?

Maybe but shouldn't a handle be attached, no evidence of one having been. Also that's thin metal and the flame from even a candle might quickly heat up and transfer to the fingers. Don't know, thanks for the idea.

Does the circumference of the open end of the one piece match the raised ring in the bottom of the cup?

Yes they do but the items were dug in separate sites. As you can tell they were pretty much flatened when I dug them.

Looks to me like a little ice cream cup missing the bottom...maybe from a childs playset of dishes?

Thanks ecmo, I missed the “separate locations” in your starting post. I was trying to put them together for a fruit juicer. Google search showed a lot of glass and ceramic squeezers in a cup and just a few metal ones.

I was thinking it was the bottom of an ice cream cup missing the top.
Thanks guys, googled ice cream cups and seen a few this could have been a base for except it is not broken off from anything and that tiney bottom on it is only roughly the size of the flat end of a pencil eraser and the side metal is very thin at only ten to twelve thousands thick, my estimate.[emoji16] so now I'm sorta leaning more to maybe it is a candle snuffer and possibly a stiff but small diameter wire went around that base attaching it to the handle.
