Found a spill the other night. My first crotal bells. Fairly new to detecting. I'm running the simplex. So my question is how old possibly and from what? The tops dont have the normal holes as I've seen. Any ideas would be appreciated. SEE PHOTOS BELOW

Yep, that is a good web site for US crotal bells.
I have found a few intact crotals and many pieces. My best is a Seth North crotal (in above link).

You may need to reduce the picture file size.

Oldest I have is a William Bevin 😁

Love the fancy. Here in upstate NY I haven't seen any with fancy as of yet. Crotal bells have to be my favorite relic to find. Just the auditory aspect and that you are the first person to hear that jolly sound since the day it was lost it's just too much fun to hear that baby ring.

Also no sign of leather in the hole. I've heard of leather actually preserving the metal its attached to, anyone else hear this? And now I'm thinking with this being a spill there may be more in close proximity. Would be amazing to find a couple still attached to a strap.
