It would be interesting to do some restoration work on the Kar 98k and the SVT40 and see what kinds of markings they have on them.
I have a very small collection of Kar 98 k rifles.

Hi,
I have seen many marks on rifles, but standard ones. I have never seen SS or Skull marks on rifles, only on sniper scopes.

The common markings would be more interesting to me because as the war went on the rifles changed as the fortunes of war change. It would also be interesting to see how the unit armorers dealt with issues. With rifles that are out on the market you can never be sure who did what. But since you are digging these you are pretty much guaranteed that you are the only one to have touched them in the last 70 some odd years.

Hi,
We have a very strict law about weapons thats why its not my topic and i rare watch the marks on weapon but there are some which i am interested in, for example ī German WWII Flare Pistol- Walther

I don't know the laws in your country, but where I live, a flare pistol is not considered a weapon, it is a safety device, like a fire extinguisher. Yes, it could be used as a weapon, but so could a fire extinguisher. Sticks and rocks can be used as weapons, but so far, I don't know of any country regulating sticks and rocks. Although, if it happened, I wouldn't be surprised, there are a lot of stupid laws being passed.

:rifle: ....
I dont talk about flare pistol, it is only the example. This pistol has 6 marks on one side.

Interesting flare gun. I have a couple of Kar 98k Sauer und Sohn rifles that have the WaA 359 where Walther made parts for Sauer und Sohn.
Seems like the Germans used a lot of flares because you always see people digging them up on the YouTube channels. Some how shooting off flares on a battle field would seem like a good way to make yourself a target.
