Just new I had my first sword plate or belt plate when I pulled this relic from 18 to 20 inches deep out of the same field that I found all of the bullets and buttons in. Almost threw it in the trash. All of the little lines on it turned out to be words.. from what I can tell it is a printing plate from the mid 1800's, that is an add for cough syrup, and was either being used as shrapnel in a smooth bore cannon, or was being melted down to make bullets. Also the Deus was consistently hitting it from both directions with a good VDI in the 80's to 90ish

Wow, very cool find! Do you plan on printing it? I flipped it but still had some trouble reading all of it. Thanks for sharing.
