Some curbstrips are like shootin' fish in a barrel. I went out and hit 3 larger curbstrips hard this afternoon. I'm loving this 6 inch coil. Took my time and really gridded them out. I took a picture of one of the curbstrips. Someone had asked me to do that on here. I also took a picture of of the tree surface roots that I look for too. So many nice signals. I only skipped the signals that sounded like obvious zincs. I included everything I dug, trash and all. 4 Mercs, 2 GW, a Buffalo, old car token, 8 wheats and a cool child's fare trolley token. I am worn out! My knees will feel it tomorrow. Thanks for looking. Brings my silver coin count to 70 FTY. My goal of 100 is in sight!

Congrats on the awesome hunt! Do you you prefer Park 1 or 2? Whats your average silver depth and do you think the 6" coil is increasing your net silver vs. the 11"?

I prefer Park 1. I think it hits on silver a little better. 50 tones wide open, Iron Audio off. Iron Bias 1-2, Recovery 5-7, Sensitivity 20-23. The silver was all about 4 inches or so. I do think that the 6 inch coil is increasing my silver count in the curbstrips. I think it separates better and it forces me to slow down and overlap my swings. I swear, sometimes just a quarter inch can make a difference in hearing a coin. I can also pinpoint quicker with it. I focus in on a potential high tone and wiggle back then dig right at the top of the coil. If you are in a smaller area or an areas that you want to focus tight on, the 6 inch coil is the way to go. I forgot to mention that this curbstrip had a fair amount of iron and nails in it for some reason. The signals were nice and they were there, but I had to really listen for them. I've gotten better at picking out the potential high tones. It takes practice patience and being able to stand all the noise.

You're killin it with them curb strip hunts!! Congrats!!
Been looking for them surface roots everywhere we go lol.

Your on your game big time Tyler. Congrats on having a huge day. 6 Silvers, a couple of Tokens and a nice count on the Wheat's sure brings in the smiles. Trapper

Thanks for the info. I have not used the 6" coil much, but based on your experience I am going to put it on and give it a serious go.

Hmmm...interesting. what a nice haul. Well looks like we will be moving to the curbs! Any problem with people? Are these old bus stops too?

Sure, lots of people, but few problems. I will usually wear a fluorescent vest so people and traffic see me. Can't be adverse to having people walk by while hunting those curbstrips. You also have to be mindful of people in bikes whizzing by on the sidewalk too. I just smile and nod. (Unless one decides to take my picture!!)

I really seek out the business front and apartment complex ones. I have far less property owners harassing me on them. I have had it happen though. I just show them what I'm doing and if they take exception, I just move on.

I wouldnt be surprised if these particular curbstrips were bus stops at one time.

Thank you for the good info! Vest is a very good idea.

Yes! And to be honest, it has a dual purpose. Not only does it make me visable to motorists and bike riders, but it gives me some level of "that guy is wearing a bright construction vest... he must have some reason to be there"

Yep...looking for pipes ma'am..

Congratulations on the great hunt. Curbstrips can be so schizophrenic - some are great and some that look to have so much potential are so disappointing. Glad you found the right one.
