New Hunter spot burning.

Did you pee on the beach? Some times when I go to new metal detecting sites/beaches I mark them to ward other hunters off.

The downside of This it can also attract femal hunters a (huntress) and they will take all of your diamonds silver and gold and they will want you to take the trash out too.

This gives me an idea I should make a video of me finding a small gold ring under a large piece of iron at one of the trashy beaches and make another a week later and hope everyone stops discriminating and help me clean up the beach so it easier to use my sand shark there:laughing::laughing::laughing: this would be awesome if it worked

Get in the water and hunt. I guarantee that only a few do it and there are targets galore out there. You don't think any of us know about Strathmere or silver behind certain casinos? I'M two hrs inside of PA and I know. Secrets? What secrets? Public beaches get detected by many people that never read the forums.

1040 " guests " visiting the forum right now. I think I read on another forum about a metal detecting bus trip to Margate.:lol::lol: Less people to hunt in NY.

It's not about it being a secret spot. Showing that you are finding multiple gold, means that the sand is low on that beach, and when you tell people the beach name, you WILL get people there to take advantage of it. The guys who put in the leg work, get screwed over by someone with a big mouth...

It's just like Striper fishing... you have guys who do the work, and find the fish, then you have the scumbags who drive around looking for people that are catching fish, then go cast right next to them... and try to crowd them out of the spot. Not quite the same, but pretty close...

Maybe your going to have to shake the water that is shorting out his brain out of his ears and use a heat gun to dry them out to avoid new shorting . LOL
M6 Mike
Hope he has commonsence when you explain to him what he is doing. Kind of like someone telling everyone where a favorite wild berry patch is , everyone will come looking and dry it up. Or you end up with a clean beach that will make it easy to get the deep signals of old things.

One idea get a hand full of zinc rots and have your buddies do the same when his back is turned drop and bury them all over where he goes. Later have the crew retrieve them. Follow him around making it tough on him with all that zinc.
M6 Mike
Maybe he will get the hint.

There is way more beach then there is us hunters. Who gives a rats a$$ who announces what, where or how.

Hello,
I am fairly new to this forum but this is the second time that I see this kind of thread. The first was one was about JB and Terry responded with the rights answers.Anyway that was nice to see you recently on our beaches.
You all know that beaches on the Atlantic ocean is a portal of time. What is there today will not be there tomorrow. Now if the discussion is about olds beaches on bays or lakes this is a different story.Like in the ground there is no replenishement. There is not much secrets anymore but they certainly still existent. In that case yes why to give your best spots.
As this thread is concerned it look like the old west.Soon you will have to make your claim for a piece of beach:lol:
The real secret is not the location but the knowledge of your equippment and above all knowing when is the time to go.

I do though agree with topicstarter.
Wasn't it an unspoken main rule in our hobby? "Don't spoil it for others."
IMO you don't have to do secretly about it but shouting out loud locations is not done either.

Hey Hey I got my eye on Costa Rica on that map!!

Did you mark that spot to?:laughing:

It has been my experience that hunters who are afraid that someone else will find the good stuff are usually not too friendly in person when you meet them on the beach.

I hunt Cape May all the time. You are all welcome to it. Finding good targets is really nice. Hunting with a couple buddies and having a good time is what I remember.

Hey now I believe Cape May is shaded in brown :p

I think as the new guy on the block he needs to understand thou he may be proud to post his finds he needs to understand he isnt the only guy hunting the beach and if its giving not everyone wants company. We all know these beaches gives occasionally not continually. Not that anyone wants you to keep others out..... but everyone would love information when a beach is giving.... its like a gold rush. I dont have a problem being honest with people i meet on the beach about what i found on other beaches. But if im working one im not as giving.
