Help with some Buttons

Found these two today in a lot holding items back to late 1800s. Any help with identification and age would be much appreciated. Unfortunately the anchor button is toasted on back so can't see any markings.

Both your buttons are fashion buttons or blazer buttons. The one with the back in it has a modern type shank (sometimes referred to as a self shank)that is usually found on civilian buttons. You anchor button has an iron back which is not used on military buttons (exception being Confederate locals.)
