I went back to a spot that's produced some Confederate relics today in Gettysburg. But to my surprise I found a hollow button. Now this was in a fence line that was just cleared. I said what the heck let's check it out. Low & behold I got a buttonish signal so I dug it. Out of the plug came a button. As soon as it hit the air it split in half nothing unusual for civil war buttons. But I saw from the Moto it was Virginia. So I put it in a safe place like on the stump at the end of the field & kept hunting. I found a few things after that but knowing I'd found a Confederate button was prying on me. It was falling apart as soon as I found it & didn't want to mess with it. I cleaned it up at home & it's a VMI cadet button from Gettysburg. WOW is a I can say. I can see why this place is so beaten lol. These are the relics I found this afternoon. Thanks for looking & HH Tim.

Excellent! That's a bucket lister I don't expect to check off.

You never know buddy. I dated a girl from Woodstock VA once upon a time. She took me to the New Market battle field. It was a pretty cool time friend. I wasn't detecting at the time though or I'd been sniffing around for relics lol.

After work yesterday.

I got out local yesterday kind of anyway. Got a few Minie balls before dark. Thanks for looking. HH

Amazing piece of history right there!
Ten times cooler than an 1860's coin to be sure:yes:

I'd love to dig some 1860's coins buddy lol. I find FE & Indian cents a lot in civil war areas. Not too many silver coins though. I did dig a nice 1858 quarter a few years ago in a Confederate camp. That was a nice surprise. Thanks for checking out my thread. HH
