Hello everyone;

Here are my finds for the last 2 hunts. Silver and wheats.

One of em is a 1923 S S.L. quarter.

When I'm out there, the only thing on my mind is digging my first Barber dime or an old Injun penny. So instead, I get this quarter. Surprised me.

Since I know didley squat about important coins, my buddy offered to take it home to better exam the date and clean it up a little. He put it under his 10x magnifying glass and called me to say it is a key date S.L.

Sure enough, you can see the last digit "3" on the coin. So no doubt it is a "1923 S". I don't know what it is worth but my friend says on Ebay maybe several hundred dollars in this condition.

When you get something like this the silver dimes don't seem to be on the top of the pic list, so I placed them at the bottom. Spoiled and not fair to the dimes, eh?

Thanks for stopping by.

Congrats on the beautiful SLQ! That's cool that enough of the date remained to ID it. The rest of the details on the coin are also pretty decent. Score!

Nice. And ... of course .... being from CA, you get the obligatory better rarer S mint. Who needs all those LCs, colonial coppers, busts, etc... When we can get the key-date S's out here, eh ? :laughing: Congratz !

Thank you everyone for all the kudos, high fives, fist bumps and congrats!!!

I appreciate your acknowledgement... almost like when I had my first child...Haha!!
