Hey folks,

Just getting back into MDing after a ten year break, if you're in tulsa and would like to meet up, answer back.

Current equipment:

Whites 5900di - bullseye pinpointer II

Howdy, from Owasso. I've only started MD'ng since October. I am a newb but having fun. When possible i take my 8 yr old and 4 yr old boys with me. I'm still trying to find places to hunt. When the weather warms up we'll see if we can get some hunts going around Tulsa. I think i've seen a few new names pop up recently for Oklahoma. My MD is nothing special-Treasure Cove TC-1020. It's not a high dollar unit but seems to be working for me.

Welcome to the forum from South Florida, My machines are in my Signature in RED.

Hey Owasso

Sounds good to me, come spring time lets do it. I have a whites 5900di thats only got about 8 hours of hunting on it but its fun to me. There are some good spots around Owasso so you should be able to dig up some good stuff.

Welcome From Central Iowa

It might be kind of hard to meet up regularly....grin... but welcome to our little campfire. You have found one of the greatest bunch of folks that are pretty savy when it comes to this hobby/sport. Your neck of the woods is a super place to hunt. Lot's of opportunity for old finds. Stay safe and warm

Hi from Coffeyville (KS). You should have quite a few areas to hunt around Green Country. There are quite a few small old towns around that would be good to hunt. My Grandmother lived in Hulbert. You might want to check with Okla's Parks Dept. to see about hunting areas like Fort Gibson and the area lakes to make sure it's OK.
My nephews and neices love to go MD with me. Sometimes they just like to dig, but sometimes they want to take over my MD! I may have to get a smaller one just to keep for my "escort".
Good luck!

HI GiGi

I understand the kids and digging LOL! I have access to a private campground on Lake Ft. Gibson that I plan to hunt when it warms up a little. It also has a fairly sandy swimming hole as well, although the waters a little cool this time of year.

Hi Dutch,

I live in Coweta, and got myself a Whites DFX as a christmas present to myself. I'm anxious to start hunting wouldn't mind some company. Let me know next time you head out. Right now I'm covered up with about 20" of snow! Keep in touch!

Whew, haven't posted in a while. How's the hunting goin TulsaDutch? My boys and i have found only clad and newer coins the last few months. We're still searching for that hidden treasure.

Tuned just for coins, we didn't find much at the Skiatook swim beach. Might have to go back there and turn down the discrimination to see what else we can find. I'll wait till the water level gets super low again.

Local tot lots are pretty good for a handful of change.

I've been hitting an old sports park just outside of Owasso the last week. Lots of dimes and clad. Nothing spectacular yet, but i can feel it. There's a treasure somewhere in there just waiting to be found. Or at least I hope so.

My boys and i just visited the Owasso historical museum. Woohoo. I got a couple copies of the maps from 1960 and 1904. I'm gonna go back soon to do some research on their newspaper clippings to try to find the hotels and other buildings that are long gone.
