PVC can be used for all kinds of projects !

I've made some interesting projects with PVC (and some planned) and learned that depending on the project, you don't always need to use glue as the PVC can fit snug enough for some projects without glue being needed.

(Below is a photo of an example of a PVC project I though of)

I made (and painted) an umbrella holder to hold a large UV resistant umbrella over my lawn tractor seat.

(I decided not to get the optional $100 store bought canopy made for it because it had poor reviews of being flimsy but the umbrella I bought was only about $28 and PVC is not that expensive)

Anyhow, the only PVC connections I had to glue was the top two corner connectors of the smaller PVC that I used for bracing, the rest of it stays together fine without glue.

The top piece of large PVC needs to be able to temporarily come off for when I take the tractor in and out of the storage shed so it doesn't hit the top of the entrance doorway.

The umbrella only needs to be set in the PVC pipe when I'm actually using the tractor, I take the umbrella out and can use it for other purposes when not using the tractor !

If I'm not metal detecting, I'm working in my shop. I make custom ink pens out of used rifle brass, acrylic, wood, & deer antlers. I even make razors out of acrylic...
You can see some of the pens I have made in the past in my photo gallery at:

Here are a few from my family. My parents had passed away before I found them <snip>

I'm sorry I missed this and yeah, I have the same problem. While my collection is around 150, I have 6 that are my own family and like you, I have no idea who some are. I only learned the ID of some by tracking down someone else in the in a distant branch that was into genealogy and they had some pictures of their own that helped me match some up. Sometimes, people put the subject names and dates under the image if you haven't checked.

This guy has talent!!

Just received a razor you made for an old friend of mine. Just wanted to say thank you for using your talent and giving the pleasure of owning one of a kind razor.

Projects

One of my hobbies is wood working. The only reason for the pictures is one of my daughters is always asking "what'cha working on now". So I send her pictures of the projects. Here is just a few without the finish applied.

Made this small chest for my mom.

A Victorian style post and bird feeder. For mom also. Post was made in 4 sections.

This one was something I always wanted to build. Made everything except the spindles/balusters at the bottom and the tiny round balls at the top. 4x4's were cut into thirds, and turned on my lathe.

A pie safe ready for sanding. This one lives in my shed down back. Wasn't happy with the way it turned out, so I didn't bother punching the tin panels:no:

Last photo. Segmented bowl, not quite finished. Not deep enough and no base yet.

:mad:I've been trying, off and on, for two days to upload these few photos, to Photobucket. There has to be a better way to go.

Made this tablet stand the other day using my 3D printer. Been making all sorts of fun stuff with it, including a Chevy emblem for my brother in law and Air filter adapter for my v8 swap in my Toyota. Been a life saver so far!

That is really very neat !!!!

When we were kids that would have seemed like science fiction

I just checked Amazon and saw there are 3D printers starting out as low as about $180, probably for the smaller ones.

Thanks GKL! I have always been fascinated with these things. They can be a headache to dial in but they make some cool stuff.

They are pretty cheap these days. The creality ender 2 has a 6 inch print area and goes for $180, and it is an awesome little printer.

I saw news stories where they actually made 3D printed hands for amputees !

Also I heard they were being used in helping to make some actual cars -

You are right bout all of that, once I get a few more printers I planned an making some prosthetics. 3D Printing has come a long way in just a few years. Can even print carbon fiber!

There’s a lot of awesome things displayed on this thread, talent also.
I made this ceremonial pipe several years ago, the bowl is carved from sacred pipestone,(Catlinite), and the stem is a hickory sprout that had a vine wrapped around it. I wood-burned the fetishes, then rubbed it w/linseed oil.
