I found my first and only Flying Eagle Cent two years ago - what a thrill !

Welcome to the Flying Eagle club - such a fun find! That one is pretty nice condition, just don't even think of cleaning it! I left mine with the dry dirt on it and put it in a coin holder, you can see mine on my page under my Best Of's.

Outstanding dig! WTG!

Out of curiousity, what does a Flying Eagle penny ID as? In other words, nickle-ish? More like an Indian Head penny? With most of my digging in the "young" state of Oklahoma, I can't say this is one that I have much chance of running across, but it's possible for me to be in the kind of dirt that might contain one, when I'm back home on vacation, detecting in western PA...

CONGRATS to you! It looks great, especially now that some of the dirt has flaked off...
