I had dug a few wheat pennies and a Merc dime (Siver coin #46) Then locked on a signal that was sweet, crisp, a 34/35 on my 800. I thought for sure I had a silver half. It was one of the sweetest signals I had ever heard. I was working an area that used to have lots of foot traffic by an old dance hall from the 1930's to the 1970's, until it was paved over. They tore out the paving and had dug a hole for a new building foundation. It was dark out, so as soon as I had it in my hand, i went to my car to take a picture. Nice sizable piece of turquoise and definitely sterling, bolo tie slide. The back of the clasp says "Bennett Pat Pend C-31" Really thrilled to have recovered it. Thanks for looking.

Great hunt, congrats on the Merc. That is a honker piece of silver-cool ! You don't see those come up to often. The sub is also pretty cool. HH Mark

That's awesome....one day I've gotta drive down and see Texas...
Actually the wedding is in Missouri. There are parts of Texas that are great to visit but there is no need to come to the southeast gulf coast. That is a working area with not a lot to see or do.
