So I just found these in a barn hidden in the walls over a window along with an old silver plated spoon. Three have twist on tops and one a cork.
All still have the paper labels, and some have new Hampshire liquor tax stickers/stamps.
1 cent for pint tax
70 cents total
Any value to these?

SORRY THE PICS ARE SIDEWAYS. COULDN'T CROP THEM RIGHT.

I like how the brown one says for medicinal purposes only.must have been a way around prohibition? 1933 was the last year of it and thats the year on the label.

My forte isn't booze bottles but I would guess 30s or early 40s. You may find date codes on the bottoms of these. One of the tax stamps says (partially left) "internal Revenue Tax Paid" which usually means before March 1950 or so. What is cool about these are the labels - very displayable.

Yeah, anyone with a bar in their Man Cave wanting a speakeasy atmosphere would definitely want to display those behind their bar.

They use to write prescriptions for whiskey during prohibition, so the bottle saying for medicinal use only is spot on for the times.

Recently I got to hunt a yard for a little lady who had recently turned 100. Dug a number of broken bottle necks with the caps still attached. However these 2 came up intact and one still has some "liquid" in it. The bottles are dated 1940 and beautifully embossed. I showed them to the owner and she expressed her surprise.

Seems I know her ex daughter in law and she said the owner would rather die than admit there may have been booze in her family's past.

Last year I posted a thread about a dump I dug and there were over 50 fifth bottles in it so they may have been boozers too.
