Found a 1941 silver quarter right next to the chemistry dept. at the university, a rare silver in a "hunted out" spot. I think my Safari made it possible, it was a weak, scratchy signal that I likely wouldn't have dug with my Vaquero or AT Gold. It was about 4 inches down, maybe on edge.
The next day at the coin shop in the next town over I had some more luck, found a proof '62 quarter for $4 and a 1901 German 2 Pfennig for 10 cents in the rummage bin!
I've been digging a little at the big downtown tearouts too, without as many finds as I expected, my first barber dime- 1908, but so corroded that the pic isn't worth posting.
