Military Navy or Civilian Button?
 

Louisiana friend found this button and is limited in posting now due to Hurricane. lost a bunch of my sites for ID with forums going away. .

i am thinking Civilian but looks a little old, back mark say Superior Quality. the loop not sure about..damage.. you guys help? i can let him know.

Not an exact match to yours, but darn close! Not sure the age of it unfortunately, but probably no earlier than civil war era. I'm no expert, just my observations based on what I have read while researching this particular button. Awesome relic!

yea thought so with the 2 stars on it. still up in air about date but shank looks 1900s
