What is Hit and Run Metal Detecting

In my opinion that is perfectly legit as long as it is not posted "no trespassing". Empty lots with realtor signs are also fair game. They usually don't give a hoot other than selling the lot.
You are STILL TRESPASSING and giving the rest of us a bad image... I know many realtors that would have you arrested for that. I know a realtor that got fired and sued for allowing someone onto a property who got hurt on that property and sued the owner... its just not that simple!

No place is completely hunted out. I was reminded once again yesterday at a tot lot. I had a short time, the wind blowing 40 mph+, but I just had to go do some swinging before the weather gets worse the next few days. I went to a tot lot we have hunted for many years with my NOX 800. I normally use the Deus, but I just wanted to get the 800 some use.

I went over a spot in the middle of where we always hit, and I got a loud solid 28-30. I was thinking of a recent drop quarter. I dug down below the wood chips, roughly 6"-8", and then a tad bit of dirt and out pops a black quarter. I was completely shell-shocked. How could we have been missing this for so many times? I guess it was just finally hitting it from the right direction at the right time. Knowing gold sinks to the bottom now I'm going to need to go over that entire tot lot again.
That's why I go over sites from multiple directions with multiple machines and coil sizes. I'm working a park that several detectorists have told me they'd hunted for years and the place was "hunted out"... Bwahahahaha! The sheer amount of stuff I've found there from old coins (1883 no "CENTS" V Nickel to Silver Quarters and Wheat pennies to OLD artifacts dating to possibly the 1700s) and in one small open strip of grass about 150 clad coins and copper and zinc pennies, would tend to say "Hunted Out My Arse".

This was a plantation, the house was built in the early 1850s and torn down in the mid 1960s and turned into a city park sometime after that. It's a VERY trashy site with lots of debris from the house that was there and right on the banks of the Mississippi River so there's flooding debris too. But it's a great site with lots more to give. I've hit it twice with my 'Nox 800 and once with my E-Trac but then I got my CTX3030 and I've done 26 hunts here since January of 2023. You can see my hunts in the first image and it's obvious I have a lot more hunting to do. In fact I doubt I'll cover it all before we move back to Florida in a couple more years.

These are the 2 hunts with my 'Nox 800, first 2 times I hit this park

This is the area that I call "The Clad Patch", an area that is supposed to be "Hunted Out"... don't think so!
