Afternoon to Everyone here in coastal Texas! Thanks for adding me to the forums!

I am relatively new to the hobby and just started hunting beaches a few weeks ago.

Read many a forum posting on the internet and also read Andy Sabich's Advanced Equinox book. Translated into about $50.00 in clad, 1 silver/ amethyst necklace, gold grill, several silver rings, and a few gold rings.

Current equipment is:
Equinox 800
DetectEd Carbon Fiber Shaft
DetectED Armrest
Patriot Headphones
Stealth Scoops 920iX with Carbon Fiber Handle / Modus grip
Garrett ProPointer AT
Calces365 Beach Finds Bag
Magellan Outdoors Men's Neoprene Tan Wading Boots (cheap and work great for me)
Quicksilver Ignite 3/2 wetsuit for the winter and jellies

Absolutely loved Meggie's beach hunting tips post (seach that brought me to this forum).

Would love any beach hunting or "reading the beach" advice for the Texas Gulf and glad to meet up for hunts in the area to share hunting locations/tips.

Welcome from Winnsboro, South Carolina !!!!

In case you haven't seen them yet here are some short but very helpful tutorials on the Equinox series I found online:

(they cover both the 600 and 800)

Thanks for all the warm welcomes and advice!

My mother & sister live in Charleston, SC and other sister lives in Hot Springs, NC so hope to do some mountain and beach detecting on the east coast!

Port A? I'm kinda jellis. I looked hard at that area for a long time, especially Rockport. Then the hurricane hit Rockport dead on and messed it up.
Now it is off the table for me. Probably never be another hurricane hit there either. I still like that area though. Redfish, trout, flounder and beaches yeah!
Welcome and please post some of your finds! GL and HH
