I found quite a few American coins 1946 or so give it take are they any good

Quarters and dimes (25 cents and ten cents) were silver through 1964. There are key dates that can be worth more than silver value, but just search the coin online for figuring those out. There are so many errors and variations collectors want it is had to keep track of the specific ones deemed valuable.

well, after the 1920s, very few USA coins carry any numismatic value. Many from the 1800s here can carry value, if the right mint mark and shape.

But I realize that in Europe, when you guys find coins from the 1500s to 1900s, those are "new" for you guys. And rarely do any carry numismatic value, eh ?

Unlike in the British Empire all US coinage is spendable for face value.
But unlike 1900 or 1800 you can't buy anything with US coins. They need to be revamped, ranging from around 25 cents to 5 dollars so you can actually buy stuff with them.

Point taken. You would just need a whole heck of a lot more of them! :D
