North Central Arkansas/ Southern Missouri

Located in Appleton City. A one square mile town about sixty miles from the Kansas border. Closest city is Butler, Mo. Halfway between K.C. and Springfield. Spent most of my adult life in KC raising a family. We retired here about eight years ago. My wife's home town. My wife's brother owns a large precivilwar homestead that I have permission to explore as much as I want. It's about thirty minutes from me. Only shell's of the house and barn are left. It was a large three story brick house. I'm going to cover all of it. I'm new at this so I'll get to hone the craft on undetected civilwar property. Would love an experienced detectorist too join me.

That sounds like a good place to start detecting. How are the grounds around the property is it accessible or grown up?
What machine do you have?
 
I'm not sure how far I am from you however I'd also love to join you when you get started if anything over grown I'm sure wouldn't be much to help get a clearing when you decide to get something going let me know I'll send my contact info your way.

The homestead is kept pretty good by Dan (my brother in-law). They go down and mow several times a summer and campout for a week a couple of times a year.

My stepfather is from Mountain Home. Are you close to there? I grew up in Tulsa. I'm probably two and a half hours north of you. Butler, Mo. Is the closest city.
 
I am in the river valley area if anyone wants to meet up somewhere for a hunt
