Metal Detector Repair

I have delayed making this post for a long time in hopes I could get my problem resolved without assistance, however no such luck. In July 2022 after researching forums I contacted, Keith Willis, East Texas Metal Detectors to repair a Tesoro Sand Shark. To make a very long/frustrating story short, it was returned to me still not working after paying $195 in October 2022. I sent it back per his request and as of October 2023 I have been told by Willis it's in the mail for over a month however he can't/won't provide me with a tracking/receipt number. I have requested my metal detector simple be returned to me and he has hung up on me more times than I can count. HELP, anyone that has any suggestions on how get my metal detector back please share. I regret the day I contacted East Texas Metal Detectors!

Great ideas however he is not listed with BBB, but I had not thought about the Texas Attorney General. I will contact then tomorrow and keep you posted. Thanks again!

I guess the best thing you can do is learn from my mistake and not send him your metal detector for repair. No one should go through this.

Just as added information, this metal detector is what I used during the winters searching the ocean of Mexico for lost items which I try to reunited with the owners on Facebook page: ISLA OCEAN TREASURES. I am not the type of guy trying to screw anyone, just a guy trying to give back.

I wish I knew someone close to Gilmer, Tx that could pick it up and ship it to me, I would gladly pay for shipping cost. I would still not want anyone else in the future to experience this. THANKS

FreeBirdTim, After being hung-up on again today I was able to file a complaint with BBB in Gilmer, TX. I have never filed a complaint before and like I originally said I have tried to resolve on my own.

Not anymore they don't. Businesses don't care anymore , those were the old days. They rely on social media sites , etc. Not only do you have to PAY to become accredited with the BBB , but you also have annual dues. Who the hell wants to pay to do that ? Unfortunately the BBB is now a scam.

Sorry, but that's not my experience. The few times I've filed a complaint with them, the businesses resolved my issue right away.

If they are a member is the key. And they pay to put a sticker on the window and the logo on their paperwork. So yes , it does still work. But for the most part nowadays.......many companies will laugh in your face. Because they are not a member.

If it was shipped USPS, they WILL investigate, I had an issue and thank God I used USPS for shipping! It took a while but I was finally made whole...

That is an idea I hadn't thought about. Yes I did ship it USPS and I'll research. BBB has sent me an email that stated East Texas Metal Detector had not replied to thier letter. Surprise!

Update: I just received notice from BBB that they had closed the case against East Texas Metal Detectors because; UNANSWERED from Kieth Wills. This nightmare continues.
