How is the Nokta Makro Legend for tot lots & gold?

Lots of excellent advice here. The XP Deus II with 9”coil is very very good on jewelry!
Not arguing that fact. Deus 2 is an outstanding detector for jewelry and other targets except for one type of target.........low to mid conductor targets smaller than about 0.3 grams if the user is using any of the FMF simultaneous multi frequency modes even with the 9" coil. Deus 2 will out perform itself on really small targets lighter than 0.3 grams by going to its Mono mode and selecting 40 kHz or higher. Deus 2 Mono 40 kHz with similar settings will beat any of the first four stock FMF modes, Gold Field or Beach Sensitive using Full Tones by inches on a #6, #7 or #8 bird shot pellet. Those targets have to basically almost be touching the coil for those FMF modes to produce a clean signal.

So, a micro gold jewelry hunter using a Deus 2 needs to know this detector's current limitations on poorly oriented, partially masked, really small profile or 0.3 gram or lighter weighted jewelry targets.

This topic was about the Legend specifically. It also will out perform Deus 2 if Deus 2 is setup in one of its FMF modes again by inches on really small targets. The Legend using selectable single frequency 40 kHz, its Gold Field multi mode and Park M2 or Field M2 all have about the same performance on similar sized targets.

The same is true of the Equinox 800 and the Equinox 900 as far as beating Deus 2 by inches on these types of targets.

I own and really like all these detectors. Not trying to start an argument.

If a reader owns a Deus 2 with 9" coil, just test it for yourself with a #6,7 or 8 bird shot pellet all of which weight 0.1 grams or slightly less using #3 Sensitive Full Tones and #8 Goldfield versus #7 Mono 40 kHz in Pitch or Full tones. An air test will clearly show the difference.
