I have been on a quest to find a pair of Bone Conduction Headphones that would work with the Legends Bluetooth connection which is Audio Codec aptX LL

I have finally found what I was looking for they are produced by Avantree and are called Lingo

Received my Lingo's this morning first thing I did was pair them to my cell plenty of volume coming through the Lingo's, I had my wife talking to me while I was trying the Lingo's out and I had no issues with being able to hear her and what was coming through the Lingo's, decided to pair them to my Legend's and they paired rite up with one of my Legends and had plenty of volume for me when swinging over targets no they were not booming tones but they were loud enough that I was able to drop the volume on the Lingo's and still could hear the tones with no issues

When I connected them to my Legends the two little LLs was present next to the Bluetooth Icon on the Legend screen which indicates they are compatible with Bluetooth Audio Codec aptX LL, which is what the Legend utilizes for a Bluetooth connection

I have severe hearing loss and these do what I was hoping they would do. I tried them with my hearing aids in first, and then removed my hearing aids, with my hearing aids in they were a little louder then when I took my hearing aids out both ways I had absolutely zero issues with being able to hear tones through the Lingo's, I like them a lot, the Avantree Torus are quite a bit louder but that is due to the speakers being pretty much rite below your ears when around your neck, the Lingo's are more like when you are using the incorporated earbuds on the Avantree Torus which are also not booming in your ears either

I have severe hearing loss and severe tinnitus in both ears, the tinnitus I have is going 24/7, and I have absolutely zero problems hearing tones from my Legends or music from my Cell Phone, or even when swinging the coil over targets and someone talking to me at the same time

the only thing I found with the Lingo's is when I went to pair them with my second Legend I had to clear the pairing of my first Legend in the Lingo's before they would connect to my second Legend, but I had the same issue with my hearing aids, so it really is not an issue at all

My search for a set of Bone Conduction headphones is over and in fact I am going to order a second set, just to have a back up set

here is the link for the Lingo's for anyone interested

Thanks for the write-up. I have Avantree Audition Pro wireless headphones for 3 years now and never a problem. I'm sure the Lingo's work just as well also. Thumbs up for an excellent company.

I was a little nervous about ordering the Lingo's at first because after I posted them up on another forum someone purchased a set before me and then said they could not hear anything or could barely hear anything through the Lingo's but I went ahead and ordered them on a hunch and very happy I did

I also love the Avantree products these Lingos are new from Avantree but work very good just like the Avantree Torus which I also have

Good job on your search oldkoot, I believe I’m the one who turned you onto the Avantree Torus, I still love them, but might have to try the Lingos as well, I’ve had a few Avantree products and have always been pleased with them, the Torus will be hard to beat as far as versatility, Legend and music, thinking of getting a second Legend as well.

I believe you were the one that turned me onto the Avantree Torus (and there have been no regrets)LOL, the Torus will connect to both my Legends without having to do anything but with these Lingo's I have to delete the Bluetooth profile in the Lingo's before they will connect to my second Legend which is kind of a pain and the second reason I am thinking about purchasing a second pair of the Lingo', and it is always great to have backups for things

if you do decide to order a pair do not expect them to have the volume of the Avantree Torus neckband speaker system, but the volume is close to what I get from the Avantree Torus incorporated Earbuds which the Earbuds on the torus are not near as loud as the Neckband speakers as you may know, if you have ever tried the onboard Earbuds on the Torus, and yours are like my set of Torus you will know what I am talking about.

these Lingo's are great just do not expect them to blow your ears off while using them with your Legend, now with my Cell Phone playing music through them the volume was very respectable and much louder also with my Laptop listening to videos they worked great, I think the volumes you get is dependent on how high the volume controls go on what ever you have the Lingo's connected to even though the Lingo's do have a up and down for the volume control onboard the Lingo's

I'm glad these are working well for you, but I wanted to point out that they aren't really bone-conducting headphones. These sit near your ear (not on-ear or in-ear) and with a tiny speaker they project/aim/direct sound into your ear canal. A neat idea, less likely to drown out ambient sounds than most headphones, but it isn't using bone-conduction.

The manufacturer doesn't call them bone-conducting, only some reviewers do. A few reviewers also comment that they are not bone-conduction. It would be safest to call them "near ear" headphones.

Not a bad price for apt-x LL headphones, thanks for the link.

I hate to dis agree with you but bone conduction headphones do not go in your ear or over your ears, bone conduction headphones rest next to your ear on your cheek bone and the Lingo's are Bone Conduction headphones, they do go next to your ears and rest on your cheekbone like a bone conduction headphone is supposed to, I have three pairs of bone conduction phones one pair is the Lingo's and all three of the bone conductions I have rest in the same spot next to your ears, an no Avantree does not call the Lingo's bone conduction but they are, the speakers on the Lingo's are facing in against you cheekbone not pointing towards your ear drum at all but actually in against the skin on your cheek bones

You may be right. My point was just because they are not in-ear, or on-ear, does not necessarily make them bone conducting. The true test is if you plug your ears, do you still hear a usable sound level and quality? I haven't used them, so I can't say. Some reviews say the sound is at least partly traveling through the air, and some say not though bone vibration, so, what are they really? Near-ear, bone-conducting, or somewhere in-between?

Well I would say they are some where in between honestly because when you plug your ears you can still here them just not as loudly as when your ears are un plugged but you can still hear the Lingo's so I have to agree with you they are something in between full bone conduction and air conduction but they still work great and are way better than sticking a set of earbuds in your ears or a over the ear headphones over your ears

My main goal was to find something that I could still hear the tones from my detectors and hear what was going on around me and the Lingo's have succeeded in accomplishing what I was trying to accomplish, I am happy with them just cannot say the same for either of my Legends LOL
