Ahh ok. Bigger coil raise the reactivity. Is that due to the bigger coil having more to deal with in the ground and the higher reactivity will sort through it faster?
Couple examples. And I have done videos showing this.
Modern trash.
9” coil use running say reactivity 2.5-4. Can suffer. Not allow higher conductor to be heard and or higher conductive ID. Use of reactivity .5-2 can yielded better results.
Whereas use of 11” and 11/13 coil one can run higher reactivity say 2-3 and do better with hearing and seeing ID wise the masked higher conductor with modern trash.
Just remember depending on which program and freq used use of notch may be required to get overall better results using all sized coils.
What happens is the edge of the coil is less sensitive (center is more sensitive) with higher speeds. But remember larger coil the edge of coil odds wise is more directly over the the masked higher conductor as coil is swept.
Also note the entire detecting scenario must be taken into account. Meaning larger coil at faster speeds vs faster speed with 9” coil, what exist and its location to include number of maskers present drive how successful Deus 2 is.
What this means - say user is using fast program 40 max freq. if we do an elevated test involving lower conductor and higher conductor. If we add multiple maskers. It could be game over for Deus 2 using big coil. But if we test a situation with 1 lower conductive junk elevated above higher conductor results odds wise better vs having multiple elevated lower conductive maskers.
I should point out use of General program using 14 kHz max freq, deep high conductor using 14 kHz max freq as well,as single freq using 4.4 kHz band can indeed offer additional performance involving lower conductive trash.
User of Deus 2 when it comes to iron/nails. Comparing bigger coils vs 9” coil. Nail and nonferrous spacing drives how each coil behaves per speed setting,
Bottom line.
9” coil is not the total answer necessarily. Or is either the 11” or 11/13” coil.
Even a smaller coil than 9” used on another model vlf detector could strike a missed by these bigger coils.
Lot of folks though since these conditions must be met for smaller coils to offer advantages finds usually using smaller coil behind Deus 2 9” coils will be more limited assumption in Deus 2 user using 9” coil hunted area using multiple speeds and different max freqs as well as different notch settings.
Cheers,
Btw,
Users of Deus 2 can do elevated tests and adjusting test objects will see what I have talked about above. And YES user will see this in the wild too.
