So, as some may know, I'm rather new here. I just started hunting maybe a few weeks ago, with some pretty decent clad finds.

Anyway, I was searching through a local tot-lot, and was underneath the monkeybars, unknowing that I was headed right for a steeringwheel shaped extension.

BAM! I clocked myself like you wouldn't believe. I actually had to stop for a second to make sure my brains wouldn't leak out! :P

Talk about a lesson learned!!!!!!

Well, you get the Knocked Noggin Award anyway:lol:

Hope it knocked some sense into you n not out... just playin...lol

I would guess that we've all done it at some point hahaha

Did your detector get hurt?

I hope that you are OK. Yes we all experience some self inflicted pain. Perhaps you will find something under the monkeybars next time.

I'm not sure about the purple heart, but I'm sure a lump on the noggin will be in your future  I hope that you are alright!

If I had a dime for every time I walked into a tree branch and almost gouged my eye out while MDing .... I wouldn't have to MD anymore lol

Last time I banged my head like that I saw stars. I first looked around to see how many people saw it and were laughing. I then sat down, took a break and regained my focus.

Its happened to us all at one time or another.

Lol

I know sometimes head lumps turn purple especially on the forehead,,,

Welcome from Lake Dallas Texas. I am asking anyone new to MD to Please Read "The Treasure Hunters Code of Ethics", and to Please learn to cut Flaps/Plugs and to be sure you know proper digging and REPAIR Techniques! Please use Shovels only in the Woods or Farm fields, Please Don't Dig in Sports fields During Season, And Don"t Leave any debris or scrap at a search site! Realize everything you do now Reflects on our Hobby and on MDers everywhere!!! Please make the effort to be an Asset not a Liability!!! Good Luck and Happy Hunting....:biker: :signals: :digginahole: :biker:

Stay out of the totlots, they're unsafe for adults:lol:...I take enough 'injury timeouts' as it is while hunting, I've developed this thing for taking branches and logs to the shins lately, I sure don't need to take a monkey bar to the head:laughing:

Try a hard hat and aviator mirrors. Safety, plus no one will approach you with questions about American Diggers.

What's bad is when it is cold in the winter time and a limb slaps you across the ear and your is is very cold ...... ouch hurts much ......
