Look around you may see video I did demonstrating.
Relic program looks to be definitely affected. Other programs may be.
Earlier versions namely 1.00 and 1.10 may have this bug too. I haven’t checked them.

Seems when you set up relic and gold field programs with IAR besides zero and then transition to another program besides either relic or gold field then when you get back to either program that’s setup - relic or gold field program. It acts like IAR is zero or the modes are hung in GB mode.
Turn machine on in either gold field or relic program and setup- seems to work right. You change programs and come back to either. Then you will have a problem. Unknowingly have a problem.

Wow TNNSS ! You da man ! Really go out of your way in finding yet another flaw in the D2. Add that to the long list of reasons on why NOT to buy this thing. Nice work...

More info.
Versions 1.0/1.1/2.0 all have bug.
Using gold field or relic programs.
I have done about 4 videos showing and talking about.
Applies to WS6 master use as well as remote use.
I have not checked versions .6 or .71.
Anyone desiring to use either gold field or relic program, Deus 2 must be in one of those programs at turn on. To get correct ops. If you turn on your unit and and it’s not in either gold field or relic program yet you desire to use either. Select one of them turn off detector. Then turn back on and setup up either program and use. And get correct ops. Do NOT transition to any other programs and come back to either gold field or relic program and expect normal ops. It’s okay to transition between either gold field or relic program and maintain normal ops.

One can save a relic or gold field program.
Same applies though as stated in above post I did.
You must at turn on be in a saved gold field or relic program to get correct ops.
I have done a video of this showing.

The D2 and Manticore both just don't appear to be worth their high cost when compared to other offerings.
Unless someone simply "likes" them. I guess that's really all matters in this hobby.

Let’s keep this thread about the bug.
Please.
Even cheaper detectors can have bugs. I have seen firsthand.
Lot of folks don’t even use the 2 modes on Deus 2 that has bug. Yet some do.
So I feel obligated to share what I know about this since I discovered.
I don’t get paid by anyone either. To do.

Ok TNNSS. In all seriousness. I think it's good that the makers are aware of these bugs. What bothers me more is why haven't they figured out these problems before release or so called updates. It's astonishing. And you must have alot of time on your hands , bored or just love doing all these tests.

There are a lot of different permutations involved with detectors that have many modes, many freqs, many filters, tones. Etc.
And depending on what one does they could get a different result if a bug exists. This is what happened to me actually.
Notice for example a one mode single freq like F75 not much to check comparatively speaking.
Then you have these folks who wants manufacturers to spit out models fast…..well. It does take time.

That little squirrel (I am borrowing this expression from someone else) runs around in these more sophisticated models. And can do tricks - sometimes unknowingly even.

Yeah.
I have a lot of spare time. It’s called being retired. Been retired since I was 41 years old and love it!!!
I do do other things besides metal detectors. Working on another project currently. Not detector/detecting related.

I am a serious person too btw. Hmm

A lot of times each new update creates new bugs of their own. It's difficult to know about these bugs until it's released to the masses and tested by users like TNSS. I used to develop PHP plugins for forums like this one. I'd spend lots of time testing and even having a group of friends test for me. No matter how many times I thought everything was good to go, whenever it got released publicly, I'd soon realize just how many things I overlooked. All it takes is one tiny bit of code being out of place. So, I'd get them all sorted, then release another update only to find new bugs.

I'm just happy that modern metal detectors CAN be updated.

Nice job finding that bug TNSS.
