Hello all,

I dug this up the other day at 12+", I think it might be some sort of copper indian artifact, but I cant be sure. I tryed playing with the pics a bit, to try to bring out the full detail of the object, though they still dont show the complete detail. This object is only a couple inches long, but has allot of weight to it. Im guessing about 3oz.

It was dug in North East PA, Wilkes-Barre area.

If anyone know or has a guess at what it may be im all ears, well eyes anyway.

Thank yah, Jer

I hope not!

Someone else had mentioned it being possibly an old pestle. Arent pestles usually rounded at one end? the entire bottom side of this object is flat. It is also seems a bit small to be one. It is just short of 2" long.

Thank yah

sorry but I don't see the flat. but I think you're right about it not being a pestle.

could you show it from the other side? or what ever angle shows the flat? It may help. thanks.

Here are some more pics. I cant figure out how to take detailed close ups with this Kodak easy share camera. I had a Fuji that took swell close ups in macro mode, but anyway here are some more pics.

Close ups with Kodak Easy Share Cameras

The Easy Share cameras are a pretty good all around peice of equipment, capable of very good, high resolution pictures. Sadly, they lack the ability to lock focus or to manually focus.

At first glance, the little "Landscape/Flower" button on the top is used to take close up pictures, but that mode leaves a lot to be desired. A little deeper into the tech manual, it describes using the "Scene" ("SCN") mode, then selecting flower from that menu ("Close Up" mode).

No telling, both may be the same mode but the second one seems to work a lot better for me.

These cameras take such huge pictures, you can always back off a little on distance & then crop your subject out of your snapshot. I did that with the coin ring in another post- the ring was the size of a quarter in the middle of a 4"x6" picture, but in full size veiw on my computer monitor less then half of the ring's width spanned the entire width of my screen (the letters from the original coin were over an inch tall). I had to reduce the cropped picture down to 30% of it's original size & it is still 8"x5" (though only 7.31kb & still very clear) in the post:

Oh, BTW, I aint telling what I think that thing is ;)

I think it is a figurine - bust. If so it is quite old with the features having been worn off.
i think your right WThesing thats what i was thinking some kind of statue in small form, like the small buddas of today you put on your dash board ... no booble head on that one though
