Coffee and doughnuts

Oh I get it now. So if a park has the ... uh ... "obligatory" sign that says "closes at Sunset", then .... this falls under what you were aiming at, in your post #16. Eh ?

I mean, ok, sure. And I suppose you and I have jaywalked before too. :frustrated: Ok, guilty as charged.

I lived right across the street from a park in my city with that type obligatory "closed at sunset" sign. Yet the park connects two disparate neighborhoods. And if you're a pedestrian, wishing to reach the other side to your own street, you walk through the park. And yes (gasp) for the 15 yrs. I lived there, it was not unusual to see people walking through the park at night. Eg.: Lovers on a stroll, or someone walking their dog, etc....

And in those 15 yrs. I lived there, the ONLY time the cops were ever called for anyone in-the-park after dark, was a single time where teens thought they were going to have a late night boom box keg party there. So IMHO, those obligatory signs are to shoo away persons who think they're going to homestead the place, or camp out there, etc....

But sure.... ok .... you got me : Guilty as charged.
BeardedRelicHunter is right and you are wrong no matter what spin you try and put on it.

I'm pretty much down with the LOW profile, don't poke the wasps' nest, urban camo concepts. Look like a fire hydrant or telephone pole. I don't mess with landscaped or nicely curved grass on curb strips. If the curb strips have exposed dirt they are fair game, with only minor root disturbance on tap. I've already had a university staffer sic the cops on me once but the cops told them to chill.

Of course I agree 100% with Tom. For me any city or county property is fair game since I am a tax payer. However, I exercise some caution. I hunt these properties mainly on the weekends. Most of the old home sites on city and county are located in wooded areas so no problem, no one sees me and Karens don't seem to like to get very deep into the woods. If I am near a road I wear a cross high visibility yellow vest that is so common, I look pretty official. I have never been questioned about my activities. Of course the land is posted, I don't hunt.

We have one 30 acre parcel that is owned by the US Gov. And every 50 feet is a stern US Property - No Trespassing sign along the sides of the property. Like what is back there Area 51? Nothing but woods along the river. Not even a park of any sort. I finally found a trail to the property from another direction with no signs, so I hunted from that direction. Read here "Plausible Deniability" . No coins or relics found in about an hour hunt. There was one old chevrolet corvair rusted out and stripped.
