Can someone please help???!!!!!

I am currently using an MP3 Pro Digital Metal Detector and it has icons that show the following from left to right:nail,twist top,pull tab,ring,dime,quarter,fifty cent piece.My question is, if I want to find jewelry, what should I set the discrimination on??If I take off all the icons from the left side(nail,twist off,pull tab) and leave the ring,.10,.25,.50 on I can find alot of pennies and dimes but not much else.If I go to all metal mode I tend to find ALOT of trash.With the ring icon on I figure I should be able to find rings but mostly pennies and screw off caps appear under this.Any help is truly appreciated.

From my experience, you should only discriminate iron. Jewelery will ring just about anywhere else. Platinum rings as foil, just one notch above iron on my machine (ACE250) and I have found silver jewelery that rings as dimes. I have never found gold but I have tested my wedding band (14kt white) and it rings as a nickel or pull tab but not any higher. Hope this helps!

Like L-C said notch out the iron but be prepared to dig trash. But if you're going for the gold you have to work a little harder. Best of luck.

I AM NOT FAMILAR WITH YOUR TYPE DETECTOR BUT AS A RULE MOST DETECTORS OPERATE THE SAME. PLACE A NICKLE ON THE GROUND. ADJUST YOUR DISCRIMINATOR UNTIL YOU CAN GET A READING OR GOOD BEEP. IF YOU ELIMINAT THE NICKLE YOU WILL ALSO ELIMINATE MOST RINGS. YOU WOULD STILL FIND THE VERY HEAVY , LARGE RINGS BUT YOU WOULD MISS THE SMALL DAIMOND RINGS.
