Brass Object w/Patent Date - SOLVED!

OK MD friends,  I dug this thing up yesterday and cannot figure out what it is.
It has in raised letters "Pat. Nov. 30. 80.", which I assume is Petented November 30th, 1880.
I've tried google search on the patent date, but no luck.
Looks like some kind of handle, but I'm not so sure.

Any ideas?

My first thought was an old potato peeler or apple corer type thingy!

If you really want to check if that item was indeed patented Nov. 30.1880 go to the US patent office webpage at: http://www.uspto.gov/

Use their search engine and use isd/11/30/1880 as search term. This gives you a listing of all patents issued on that date (234 of them..). You need a .tiff viewer plugin for your browser to see the images...but you can find all necessary instructions from that page.

I did start my search there, but have not gone though all 250 patents.

Interesting little piece, I guess it could be from anything.

Ha!  Almost Voriax, I think it was 167 (or there about).
