About the size of a dime

It appears to be made of alluminum possibly as it isn't tarnished. It's very thin. Has lettering of some sort... I can't make sense of it though. Any ideas? Only thing I can think is that maybe it came in the top of some sort of bottle... like a cap liner.

It's very decorative, yet... so small? The center is obviously initials.

Did you find the thimble too?
 
it could be a cap that they used to put on the hammer of muskets in the civil war that produced a spark so the gunpowder would catch on fire
