I went night hunting for the first time and it was kinda fun, nobody really out except for the large beatles, the coin mine I was hoping for where I found the first wheat penny had been buried and dug up by a bulldozer.. I was about a week late I guess but kept looking and found this object, at first I thought it was a bolt or something but it's solid, no holes in it. It's some type of metal not sure about half dollar size with six sides and 1/4 inch thick. It does stick to a magnet so dont think its coin or anything but It could be lucky and it looks cool hah!

It looks like a animal id tag from the shape of it.

It is the bottom pad portion of a leveling foot from a range or dishwasher. The threaded shaft is sheared off. In my kitchen business I see these all the time when installing new appliances. Many times they are broken off of the old appliances.

cool thanks for the nfo wt.... and here I thought it was just a wierd piece of metal.. wonder how old these can get heh

Would have to agree. When i was younger i worked at an appliance shop and those things were every where.

ahh token.. hmm well it is really dirty so I guess theyre could be writing and it could be a token if it's cleaned up.. how think is that one poppy? Because mine is kinda thick.. is that a bronze/copper one?

Thx for the help everyone.

Based on the 1st picture, I still say it is a leveling pad. It is shaped this way in order to get a wrench on it. Usually made of steel or white metal. Thickness varies from 3/32" to 3/16".

I think your right poppy.. Im still trying to figure out how to clean these objects, I just found a railroad spike Id like to see polished up too.

But you do have a point in that if it is metal and old and worn away who really knows what it could of been.

Could you post a better picture? Sorry to be a nag... turn the flash off on your camera and put maybe a desk lamp at an angle, focused on the object. Should get some detail out of it.
