Can anyone tell me what these are? Definitely lead. Old bullets?

I found both of these today while detecting. I found them within a 1/2 mile of one another in Southeast Louisiana near the Pearl River.

Any help identifying these? Perhaps Enfield?

Picked these up on an 1868 battlefield in Japan. Shot by Imperial soldiers at the Shogun’s forces. Measure 1.03” long, about .56” diameter. I understand forces on both sides were using imported muskets and rifles.

Today me and a friend of mine decided to go for a detecting trip along the shoreline of Lahave River, we hadn't known prior but there was a huge wharf they used to load lumber onto ships for transport. A curious landowner come right over laughing about Gary Drayton detecting Oak Island (about 35...

My 2019 MDing Wrap-up (Third Year Finds)

Sorry it has taken so long for me to post this, I have been meaning to get this done for quite some time, but other things that took priority came up. I really enjoyed using my new detector that Silversmith45 gave me in the 2018 Christmas gift exchange, and I even found my first ever silver &...

hunting a creek with deep banks that floods

I am hunting a creek that has about 12 foot banks and floods almost every other year. It runs through an area where there was a major civil war battle, but not a national or regional battlefield. I am looking for Civil War bullets. on the curve in the bank, should I hunt the outside rim of the...

Found these in woods behind my house

Any thought on these? Circa 1850-1880? Revolver cartridge or rifle? Found near Manassas, va but not in known battle field. Apparently an old wagon road was in woods.

    Slug from a shotgun?

After finding lots of head stamps of old shotgun shells, I came across the slug on the right. I was wondering what info someone may have? The area has yielded head stamps from early 1900s to the 1930s and some from the 60s/70s. I am curious about the slug on the right. I put on of the shells...

My 2018 MDing Wrap-up (Second Year Finds)

Looking back at 2018, although once again, I didn't find anything valuable (that I know of ) I had a wonderful time detecting with my dad, brother, & sister. The suspense of not knowing what the next plug may hold, whether it's clad, an old coin, a relic, or even trash, is such a...

    Fired in anger

I finally found my first actual skirmish site. After much research and leg work I now know some of those historical marker signs aren't as precise as you might think. Anyway while hoping to get lucky and find a few drops which I did out in the pasture, but once I got near the base of a big hill...

    Louisiana Relics

Hi all, my name is Jonathan. I have been relic hunting over the past 20 years with my dad from the day I could walk. I have decided to create a website in order to sell many of the items we have found and as an informational tool for others interested in old relics. Right now I only have a few...
