I took my etrac on the flight I'm on right now. Packed the poles in my check-in, kept the unit and batteries with me. TSA came over and asked me what the heck was that thing but then immediately figured out it was a metal detector. Let me right through without any problem!

Can anyone tell me if they have ever encountered any problems taking their metal detector on a plane? Are you allowed to do that? Will they make me check it in at baggage? I would be devastated if after waiting 20 years to finally get one the airport security confiscates it :crying:
