Simplex+ USA Waiting Thread

I sure hope the actual USA distribution channels that know numbers from dealers are incorrect. Because if they are correct, there is going to be A LOT of disappointed people out there waiting. A LOT!

I am sure this will be inevitable because of the popularity of the SimplEX -
If Dealers have NOT pre-ordered enough, the Distributors can only do so much which has little or nothing to do with the factory -

Never the less, I am sure Turkish manufacturing will cope with demand, as they have shown in the past -

Exciting times ahead

Ok.. UPS tracking indicates it will be here Thursday.. why does it have to be my wife’s day off..

Lol, mines coming on Thursday also. My wife doesn't know about it and I hope she doesn't have the day off. Oh well she's gonna see it sitting in my man cave anyway so....... whatever.

Glad to see the first wave is shipping. I'm waiting for mine but I'm in round two, so i have another 4 or 5 weeks i think. Can't wait to hear your first impressions.

Looks like midpriced machines are gonna hafto step it up,,what’s new yesterday is old tomorrow..Makro just keeps pumping winners out, have mine on Saturday for the weekend.

Just got mine today and it's set up and ready to go. I just need to charge the head phones and get them paired up with the machine.

Gonna take it out this weekend and give it a test run.

Hey guys, first post here... Amazon (not sure who the seller is) has both detectors in stock for delivery next week! I just ordered today and will get mine on Thursday. This will be my first detector, so for the price, how do you go wrong? I also have a trip to Florida in January, my folks live along the gold coast, so I will get some beach time with it hopefully!

It's not new tech, it's very old tech wrapped in a new waterproof housing for small money.

If you hold on a bit longer you can have the latest new tech in the multi freq Minelab Vanquish.

I own an 800, and for the price $254 the Simplex+ looks attractive.

Yes, older tech, but simple and a 99 spread on the VDI instead of the 40 on the Nox 800 and Vanquish. I am not a big fan of some targets/junk crammed into the 40 spread on the VDI.

Simplex look like a great detector to keep in the car when you drive by a site and wish you had a detector but don't want to keep $1,000 of equipment in your car.

just my thoughts.

Just an FYI, I tried to update my Simplex this morning using an older computer that runs windows 7, and then the simplex didn’t recognize that there was a coil attached. Messed with it for awhile then tried again on my wife’s computer that run windows 10. The windows 10 computer updated perfectly. My advice? Use the newest computer you have to do the update.

I do like the spread on the VDI. Took it to a local park this morning and dug some clad just to get a feel for the numbers and sounds. Zinc pennies ring up around 66-67 and coppers come in at about 76-77. Clad dimes at 78-80 and quarters 90-91. Silver quarters ring up a little higher at 93-95 in air test. The one nickle I found came in at 24-25. Tested it on some IHP's and they came in at 62-63 (they are very crusty so a clean one may ring up differently).

Thanks for the info. I downloaded the 2.68 firmware but haven't installed yet. I'm running windows 10 so I shouldn't have a problem, If any of you have an issue updating you will need to install latest USB drivers.
