My AT pro is giving up the ghost!

I've really been looking hard at the AT Max, my only concern is how it would do with salt water. I have loved the Garret though it's been a great machine. Already paid for itself a couple of times over if I'll ever sale what I've found with it. I figure one day it will be part of my retirement! :D

If the AT Max is a single frequency machine it probably won't do too well in salt. For salt water and wet sand you need a dual frequency machine.

Surprised nobody has mentioned...

Is your coil connection seated and tight?

<°)))>{

Yeah it is, I’ve taken it off and on maybe 3 times trying to make sure it had a good connection. Hopefully tomorrow the new coil will have this fixed right up. I’m going on vacation to a friends property in a couple of weeks to a spot that has a lot of history going back to colonial times. Hopefully I don’t have to buy a new detector before we go.

My buddy's Max was doing the same exact thing. A new coil fixed the problem. I hope your new coil takes care of the issue so you can get back out there soon!

The new coil came in and it’s working great so far just messing around with it in the yard. Time to hit a beach tonight and do some clean up from what I missed while it was acting up. I really like the at pro but bonus time next February I’ll be getting the Nox 800 so I can have 2!

That's excellent news! Glad to hear that you're back in business. The 800 is a great rig but it seems like the AT series are as well.

This is my third year with the AT pro and I’ve found a bunch of coins and civil war stuff and it’s done me really well in fresh water. I’ve got to where I prefer water hunting in the summer time. Not much history but gold and silver has a way of bringing a smile to my face!:cool3:
