Here’s some info on the nox

Ok,I’m pretty much gonna lay it out,and if the brat pack wants to disagree or come to the aid of this machine, have at it,
Here’s my take from tonight.11 zinc pennies there, and every one of them rang in as a 28 - 31,guess what,so did the quarter...The ID absolutely sucks on this machine,I’m calling it a total failure as a coin visual ID hunter.
If you have a Etrac, keep it,if you have a racer 2,keep it..This machine has the worst visual ID I’ve seen,I can’t believe guys are defending and recommending this machine as a coin hunter...Sure,if you wanna waste your time digging pennies and stumble across a silver coin and then it’s all worth it to some,I got better things to do than dig pennies that the nox calls quarters.
And I’m not even joking here,if you have this machine on your list, and your a old coin hunter,,and you wanna believe a bunch of relic hunters, then have at it.
Guys have the nerve to say anything about the at pro:laughing: dig your pennies and post your silver you happen to come across, along with the iron and screw caps.i dug more than enough of those tonight too,and whipped everyone of them, nails and screwcaps ..
No,this equinox is no dedicated coin hunter, not in my book.As a old coin hunter myself I’ve had my last hunt with this machine.

You will be defending yourself night and day against the Minelab "trolls". Seems every site has a couple. 1 site even has a troll in charge of moderating the Minelab section. Any comment or thread started negatively about anything Minelab is automatically deleted. I'll never buy another

I hope you disclosed to the buyer that it was id'ing zincolns the same as quarters because there's something wrong with your machine. I, like a bunch of others here have never had a zincoln come in over 21. If they're corroded they'll come in as low as 17-18, but never over 21. The warranty is transferable so hopefully the new owner can send it in.

RACER 2 you got to be kidding me...... Has no depth once you take it out of all metal and put it in discrim mode. You want to talk about a hyped up detector there s one for the books... Racer 2 .....suppose to be good in iron too. Theres another joke...

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this machine other then it’s visual ID isn’t good, and thats not a defect, just the way it is.Ive read as many say the same ,thanks tho

If you know how to use it,it’s a great machine. And your really hung up on depth, why? I’ve watched your videos and never saw you dig past 6 inches?
Maybe tnsharpshooter will correct you some here on your comments,he's actually used the racer 2 other than a test garden.

RACER 2 ....LOL Loves to high tone on the nails in the thick iron....I guess your gonna tell me depth doesn't matter relic hunting.... . I guess I need to start calling depths out on digs..

Are you saying the nox don’t false on iron? I’m not even intentionally putting it down, but it’s a iron hound.lol..But that’s great for you guys who relic hunt.
And in my ground the nox is no deeper than any other midrange machine, and that’s not a bad thing,it’s just on the same level as similar priced machines.
You keep fooling yourself and others, people will learn..I just had a guy pm me with a 600 asking what I got for mine,,he wants to trade his nox for a Kruzer. So,I guess he’s not feeling the nox either?
You can do what you want, but I’m a little smarter than to keep using somthing cause so and so said so,,when my results just don’t show it?

I thought chains would be turning up all over the place. Maybe everyone is keeping tight lipped about it.. to be honest the chains in the threads above would likely be found by most detectors that function in saltwater environments. (I don't have an Equinox)

For one in case you haven't been paying attention.
Nox seems was released in higher numbers in USA, and just how has the weather/water temps been? Cold as you know what right. Maybe except from Florida.

No water proof headphones yet either.

Australia seems didn't get the Nox in numbers or as early as USA where it is indeed warmer.

We haven't even got a good look at what Nox will find YET. Beach and actual fresh water and salt water detecting.

Actually the AtMax due to when it was released, we don't have a good look yet at what it is capable of based on actual finds in the wild.

I do think it is safe to day. If a detecfor won't pick up a chain laying in salt water when testing, or if it struggles more so, this will also be seen in the wild too.
Now chains can be different, and some bigger too.

I really don't think as many chains have been lost as people think vs rings.
I could be wrong.

There is really no way to tell.

And some folks are actually still waiting on their Nox units.

Around July 4 next year, we'll have a real good idea I think how the Nox is doing as far as beaches/salt water/ freshwater in USA.

Btw, it took far longer than 3 months after release in USA before folks knew how good the Deus was at what it does.

And the folks who got Nox early, do they even beach hunt or live near a salt water beach?
I don't.

I wish the anti-Nox crowd could just back off for a bit. If the machine is no good, that will show in time. And then they can rub the Noxers' noses in it. But until then, you are just looking defensive and petty. It's amazing how many bashers have never had their hands on a Nox or buy one just to use it long enough to call it !!!! without really learning the machine. JMO.

Some folks don't realize the Midwest and northeast have had a historical winter of sorts. Or maybe a historic spring.
Detecting time has been very limited due to.

When you are talking several inches to ft of snow in March and April this shuts down detecting period.

Even where I live the weather since I have had Nox has been terrible. Rain rain and more rain.
Just like today.

Time will tell as folks actually get more use time in various venues.
Then we'll have a BIG pic of what's happening.

One gent here via pm from Iowa told me last week he only got a foot of snow, and 3 days later got 10 additional inches.

Is the explorer series any good on silver?
Heck yeah it is.
Notice Capt Silver here, Bruce I'll bet is way behind silver coin finds wise for time of year.
Why?
Nor'easter after Nor'easter.

The day the Boston marathon was run.
They said to find a day (as far as the date) as cold or colder you had to go back to the year 1881. That's a lot of years.

If a user doesn't like the Equinox he has the same right to post as a user that does. It keeps people honest. After decades of metal detecting magazines with BS reviews it is refreshing. But in the end people have to accept reality. It isn't going to make that old site new. Nothing beats research. We don't all hunt for the same things. And some people are on the take to say good things. READ BETWEEN THE LINES.

That's a real catch phrase there Goodmore.
I remember it well.

Im not a minelab fanboy as a matter of fact I have gone back to the Deus for thick iron as its the best ive found for that situation. The Nox does have a place in my relic hunting though. It will replace my Deus 11 inch coil...

You definitely said it right, but I doubt they'll hear it right.lol..I honestly could care less what these guys say,I opened this thread up with the bratt pack coming outta the woodwork, and sure enough they've come.
I usto be a minelab hater, yea,,I'll admit I was.Not for the performance but for the arrogance people get when owning one.
And history repeats itself, guys who have been in this hobbie a year or two giving opinions like they're facts.
I almost never bought the nox, just because of the prehype. And it's only gotten worse,I mean guys are out of control. How many people on this thread called the at pro junk? Lots. And why, this thread is about the equinox..
